Sketch

(Co-writer/Co-creator: Matt Josten)

A dark supernatural comedy set in an alternate present day, Sketch follows the story of Savant-autist, Arthur Duncan.

After learning of his sister’s disappearance, Arthur drops out of MIT to pursue a career as an FBI agent or police officer in the hopes of finding his sister. Unfortunately for him, both organizations reject him due to his “disabilities”. This leaves the young man with one final option: to become a certified forensic sketch artist

The series begins with Arthur on his way to his first official job as a sketch artist in the remote woods of Northern Arizona. It is only once he arrives that Arthur learns of the grisly nature of the crimes. Local police deputy, Paxton Morstan, awaits the young sketch artist, giving him a rundown of the events and nature of the murders which called him there.

With the suspect reported to be over 7-feet tall and disguised in some sort of flowy robe, things couldn’t be much creepier. That is until Arthur gets restless that night and heads to the scene of the crime where he is immediately kidnapped by—

Sue Cash, vampire hunter. Arthur’s mysterious captor spills all the beans as soon as the young man awakens. One of the beans being that Sue works for a historic supernatural crime-fighting agency known as the Saints of the Spectral, or SOS for short. The other, more important bean being that Arthur has been carefully selected as the writer of the Saint’s Bible, the updated encyclopedia and field handbook for hunters within the SOS community.

After reluctantly teaming up with Paxton, Sue and Arthur manage to kill the Opal-Eyed Chatterer (a species of vampire) thanks to Arthur’s neurodivergence mitigating the preternatural powers of the creature. With both Arthur and Paxton critically injured, Sue takes them and their haul back to SOS headquarters, where the unconscious pair are sworn in as new members of this top-secret, government-funded society.

And thus Sketch follows the trio as they embark on supernatural adventures of the ass-kicking kind, and try to find Arthur’s missing sister— who may or may not be a vampire herself now...
